The Faves of New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week...

Made of dreams, if you ask us. Yes, Paris fashion week is the place and all that jazz, but lately we have been quietly and diligently plotting and planning our lives so that we can somehow end up in the big apple.

The recession seems to have had a strange way of separating the masses. Some are in near hysteria, while others (me!) are in near complete denial. My ability to push things to the foggy and forgetful corners of my mind have come in handy, once again.

From what I've seen/read, the fashion crowd is also equally split, with companies cutting corners where they can, and others straight denying. And that glistening, far away world of Haute Couture obviously sticks to what they do (no matter what), which is Fantasy.

But recession or not, Fall 2009 Fashion Week in NYC got us mighty stoked on a teensy bit of fantasy, and a whole lot of wearability. Check out some of the fashionMovementz favorites in our next few posts..

Proenza Schouler impressed the fashion crowd as their latest collection was revealed at New York Fashion Week.
It was back to the basics for Proenza Schouler when they revealed their latest collection for Fall 2009. The collection is completely wearable and will be able to sell in these dire times. Young Hollywood was sitting front row to watch, Nicile Richie, Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester and Ashley Olsen. Anna Wintour holding court in the front row as well. Proenza's Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez showed a return to their signature styles that made them successful. There were beautiful coats in camel, metallic dresses with cut outs, chic black dresses, and incredibley cool dresses for the downtown girl.
